Welcome to Creative Tea Towels! Here’s a little bit about me and how the company got its start.
I am originally from Montreal, but spent 25 years living, working, and raising my family in Germany before repatriating back to Canada in 2000. My family settled in Vancouver and shortly thereafter I met Sue Noble. At the time Sue was running a small-scale tea towel business and I was looking for a new creative business venture. We decided to team up and NobleWalters was born in 2004 (today Creative Tea Towels).
The business was initially focused on creating self-portrait tea towels for local schools to use as fundraising items. This concept is common in England, where Sue is from, and I was familiar with the idea from my time in Germany where my children attended an international school. I have years worth of treasured dish towels in my kitchen, each decorated with images of my daughters and their classmates. These unique tea towels are some of my favourite kitchen accessories, so you can imagine my surprise when I discovered that the fundraising concept was not popular in North America! So Sue and I decided to introduce it.
Our original vision was to create a meaningful method of fundraising for local schools, but the business has since grown into a diverse creative enterprise. Our clients include local artists from across Canada and the United States, small business, national museums and galleries, botanical gardens, individual events, and of course, schools.
No matter who we work with, quality is central to our business philosophy. All Creative Tea Towels products are cut, sewn, and printed in locally in Vancouver, Canada. We only print on our 100% fine cotton fabric, which has been woven to our exact specifications.
Creative Tea Towels
Sue decided to leave the business in 2013 to pursue new goals and I chose to rebrand and expand what we had started together. Since then we’ve worked with customers from across the globe; creating everything from our classic self-portrait tea towels to custom wedding favours, corporate branded gifts, and commemorative keepsakes. Creative Tea Towels has become my creative outlet and I am inspired every day by the artists, designers, and clients I have the privilege to work with.
I am energized by new ideas and would love to work with you to turn your creative vision into a beautiful, printed reality.
